Assemblyman Tri Ta, who represents California’s 70th Assembly District, has recently addressed several issues affecting Californians through his official Twitter account.
On May 1, 2026, Tri Ta commented on the rising cost of living in California, stating “By nearly every measure, California has become unaffordable for working families. Electricity rates and the cost of a typical home are roughly double the national average, and gas prices sit about $1.67 higher per gallon, driven by state taxes and regulations. Families are”.
In another post on May 3, 2026, he marked Mental Health Awareness Month with a reminder to his constituents: “May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a reminder to check in on friends and loved ones and take a moment to look after your own well-being too. If you or someone you know needs support, the OC Warmline is available by calling 714-991-6412 or by text at 866-610-5357 with resources”.
On May 4, 2026, Tri Ta participated in a ceremony honoring law enforcement officers who lost their lives in service during the previous year. He posted: “Today, I was honored to join police officers from #AD70 at the State Capitol for the Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony, where we paid tribute to the 12 fallen officers who gave their lives in service to our state last year. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.”
California’s high cost of living has been attributed in part to housing shortages and elevated utility costs compared to other states. The state consistently ranks among those with the highest gasoline prices nationwide due to its tax structure and environmental regulations. Mental Health Awareness Month is observed nationally each May as an effort to reduce stigma and promote mental health resources across communities. The annual Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony at California’s State Capitol commemorates law enforcement personnel who have died in the line of duty.
