Assemblyman Tri Ta, a member of the California State Assembly, recently used his social media platform to inform constituents about legislative updates, educational opportunities, and public safety concerns.
On September 3, 2025, Ta announced the opening of applications for an experiential learning program: “Applications for the 2026-27 Cohort of #AssemblyFellows are now open! Rooted in experiential learning and #PublicService, Assembly Fellows spend 11 months as part of a cohort working in the Capitol office of a California State Assemblymember. College seniors and recent graduates https://t.co/tS2WVNd4g9”.
Two days later, on September 5, 2025, Ta recognized a colleague’s contributions as the legislative session neared its end: “As the Legislative Session begins to wind down, I want to take a moment to recognize Assemblyman James Gallagher, our outgoing Minority Leader. Under his steadfast leadership, our caucus has grown stronger, secured key legislative victories, and advanced critical conversations on https://t.co/eobM3DjjdR”.
Later that same day, Ta warned residents about fraudulent activity involving impersonation of state tax authorities: ” Scam Alert: Scammers are sending fake texts pretending to be the State of California Franchise Tax Board. It’s a tax scam to steal personal and banking info.
Don’t click suspicious links.
Verify at: https://t.co/Ts3EV0L8fV https://t.co/rJQ3DnKFO9″. The California Franchise Tax Board has previously issued warnings about similar scams targeting taxpayers through text messages or emails in attempts to obtain sensitive information.
The Assembly Fellowship program is known for providing recent college graduates with hands-on experience in state government by placing them in offices at the California State Capitol for nearly a year. This initiative aims to cultivate future leaders committed to public service within California’s legislative process.
James Gallagher served as Minority Leader during this period. His leadership was noted for strengthening his caucus and contributing to key policy discussions in the state legislature.
Scams impersonating official government agencies have been on the rise nationwide. Residents are encouraged by authorities such as the Franchise Tax Board to verify communications directly through official channels rather than responding to unsolicited messages or clicking unfamiliar links.
