On April 14, 2026, Tri Ta commemorated a significant event with the Mendez family. He wrote: “It was a beautiful morning with Sylvia Mendez and members of the Mendez family celebrating the grand opening of the Mendez Freedom Trail on Hoover Street in Westminster. When I was Mayor of Westminster, thanks to funding secured by Senator Tom Umberg, my city council colleagues https://t.co/nRLTYveq4M”. The post references his tenure as mayor and acknowledges support from Senator Tom Umberg for securing funding for this project.

Later that day, Assemblyman Ta addressed remarks made about the Vietnamese community. On April 14 he posted: “When Hasan Piker made incredibly offensive remarks about the Vietnamese community, I felt it was important to speak out. Two days later, on April 16, Assemblyman Ta congratulated Bill Shopoff regarding new development in Westminster: “Congratulations to Bill Shopoff on the groundbreaking of Bolsa Pacific, a new mixed-use complex on the site of the former Westminster Mall. Tri Ta is an Assemblymember representing parts of Orange County in California and previously served as Mayor of Westminster.
