For the 2022-23 school year, in-state tuition at Golden West College saw a slight increase of 0.3%, based on recent disclosures, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

California residents paid $1,190 to attend the two-year public college this year, which is $4 higher than the $1,186 charged during the 2021-22 academic year.

Non-resident students were charged $9,854 for the 2022-23 school year, representing a 728.1% premium over resident tuition and a 15.2% increase from $8,554 in 2021-22.

Approximately 90% of the undergraduate population at Golden West College are California residents, while about 2% come from other states and 8% are international students.

Data indicates that 71% of full-time undergraduates who began studies at Golden West College in 2022-23 received some form of financial aid. A total of 654 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $4.2 million, while nine students took out loans exceeding $40,579.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
