City of Garden Grove issued the following announcement on October 27.
On Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., the City will host a community meeting to discuss possible future renovations to Woodbury Park. Neighborhood residents and park users are invited to attend in-person or virtually. The in-person meeting will be held at Woodbury Park, located at 13800 Rosita Place. To access the virtual meeting, visit ggcity.org/parksplan. Access to ZOOM will begin at 10:45 a.m., on Saturday, November 14.
The community meeting is part of the City’s 2020 grant application for California Proposition 68, the Parks, Environment, and Water Bond Act of 2018. Through Proposition 68’s Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program (SPP), the City can apply for a minimum of $200,000 and a maximum of $8.5 million to renovate a local park. Currently, Woodbury Park serves as the best opportunity to apply for the SPP grant due to the park’s acreage-per-resident and surrounding median household income.
In-person attendees are asked to follow health protocols outlined by the county and state, such as staying home if you are feeling sick or exhibiting flu-like symptoms; wearing a face covering at all times; and maintaining at least six feet of social distance from those outside your household.
