Assemblyman Tri Ta marked several significant events and issues in a series of posts on his official X account between November 10 and November 12, 2025. Ta, who represents California’s 70th Assembly District and is known for his advocacy within the Vietnamese American community, used his platform to honor military service members and express concerns about cultural representation.
On November 10, Ta recognized the anniversary of a major U.S. military institution, writing: “Today, we celebrate 250 years of the United States Marine Corps. For generations, brave men and women have answered the call to defend our nation on land, at sea, and in the air. I am deeply grateful for their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting our freedoms.”
The following day, Veterans Day, he posted another message honoring those who served in the armed forces: “This Veterans Day, we salute all who have worn the uniform of our nation. Your service, sacrifice, and love of country embody the best of America. We are forever grateful for your commitment to protecting our freedom.”
On November 12, Ta addressed an issue concerning cultural sensitivity and film recognition: “Thank you to The Epoch Times for shedding light on this important issue. As a proud member of the Vietnamese American community whose family fled communism, I am deeply troubled that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences would consider a propaganda film produced by the”.
Ta’s statements reflect ongoing discussions within the Vietnamese American community regarding portrayals of communist regimes in international media. His comments also coincide with national observances such as Veterans Day—a federal holiday dedicated to honoring U.S. military veterans—and with commemorations marking significant milestones in U.S. military history.
